2006 Mission to India

Mission Summary
This mission was conducted 6-18 January in Chennai and New Delhi viagra online. The MCH team screened/examined 138 kids, conducted over 61 surgical procedures on 28 kids, and fit and provided the following:
4 wheelchairs
2 tricycles (is like a 3 wheel bicycle, except pedals are hand cranked & chain drives the front wheel)
5 pr forearm crutches
3 pr reqular crutches
3 neck collars
1 wrist cock-up splint
28 Ankle-foot orthoses (braces)
51 Knee-Ankle-foot orthoses (night splints)
3 knee braces
2 valgus correction splints
4 above knee articulated prosthetic limbs
2 below knee articulated prosthetic limbs
1 thoracic brace
2 Reflux Seating Systems (more to follow, depending on need)
Of particular note is the participation in 2006 of Darco International and Exactech Corporation . Darco donated titanium locking plates and screw sets for foot/ankle reconstruction; Darrel Darby (President, Darco, who flew from the US to Chennai) and Johannes Hagenmeyer (Darco Europe, who flew from Germany to New Delhi) provided valuable on-site assistance at no cost to surgical teams in the use of their products. Another company, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated 10 sterile bone graft kits for foot/ankle reconstruction procedures conducted in Chennai.
Jaime Landsman (Dr. Adam Landsman’s daughter) stuffed 50 empty toilet paper cardboard rolls with candy and toys, then covered them with decorative wrap for the India kids. Those, and the stuffed animals she donated were a huge hit with the kids, and brought smiles and laughter to all who received them, even the children who had just undergone extensive foot/ankle reconstructive surgeries.

Mission Summary
This mission was conducted 10-27 February, 2005 in Chennai (Madras) and New Delhi, India. During this period, the MCH team, including its partners (see “Partners” page), assisted a total of 134 children and their caregivers; performed 27 corrective surgeries to allow 24 children to walk (either for the first time, or correctly); provided physical therapy and post surgical plans; provided training to hospital staffs; and purchased/fit/provided the following:
